Amplify Education Iconography
Amplify is an education technology company, focused on curriculum and assessment tools for K-12 schools. The company is serving more than 21, 000 schools across all 50 US states. I joined Amplify as a summer design intern.
Challenge
Amplify Education's iconography library needed an expansion in the area of common items in the school environment.
Solution
In-depth ideation process, and thorough iconography design stage.
Result
A library of 200+ new icons.
No items found.
Process
Research
The initial research process consisted of brainstorming and categorizing items into objects, concepts, scenics, and people.
Low-fidelity
After coming up with the initial list of about a 150 items, I started sketching up different low-fidelity concepts of the iconography, in order to get them approved by the marketing design team.
High-fidelity Production
The next stage was to decide on the design aspects of the icon ranging from whether or not to use rounded corners, the width of the stroke, the composition, or the color scheme.
